1st Japanese Language Speech Contest

1st Japanese Language Speech Contest, organized by the Department of Japanese Language was held on 12 July 2008, at the Institute of Modern Languages, University of Dhaka. Mr. Mohd. Abdur Rahim, Director (in-charge) of the Institute, attended the Contest as the Chief Guest. 14 students participated in this Speech Contest.
Dr. ABM Razaul Karim Faquire, Associate Professor of Japanese & Mr. Nakayama Kazuki, Honorary Lecturer, were the Judges of the Contest. Mr. Nurul Islam Mujib, Lecturer of Japanese delivered Welcome Speech while Mr. Mohammed Ansarul Alam, Assistant Professor and Head of the Japanese Language Department delivered Closing Speech.
In his Speech, Mr. Alam explained the objective of the Contest, future plan of the department etc. He pointed that speaking skill is a very important component of learning language and this Speech Contest provides a solid platform to the young learners to develop their speaking skill.
Among the others Mr. Takashi Asai, Head of Information & Culture Division of the Embassy of Japan was present.
